Christ-Likeness

For the believers to endure the persecution that comes with the blessing of being partners in Christ, they must actually be in Christ. How does one show that they are in christ? Living Christ-like lives. So Paul gives the Philippians a summary of the nature and person of Christ. Humility followed by exaltation is the pattern set before us in Jesus. With that in mind, Paul follows up with practical application - 2:14-15 No Grumbling, No Complaining. So you may be blameless. Blameless of pursuing the gospel for selfish ambition (1:17). Paul is telling them to get along in ministry. Fast forward to 4:1-3 to show a more direct application of all that Paul instructs in Philippians.
