“A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever pours out lies will perish.”Proverbs 19:9 NIV
Did you know that perjury is illegal? Our system of laws in the US reflects this scripture but perhaps not the way that justice is carried out.
I did a search on this topic, so I saved you some time. Mylegalquestions .com had this to say in the matter on perjury.
“The false statement or statements made under oath must deal materially with the case. A woman who gets on the stand and insists she’s five years younger than her true age is committing perjury, but this may not be actionable unless her age is directly related to the case.”
Essentially if it doesn’t affect the judge and jury’s perspective on the case, it’s not worth pursuing punishment.
When someone lies under oath, but it can’t be refuted because they tell second and third had information we call this Hearsay. In most courts this is objected by a good lawyer from the opposing team. Unfortunately even some courts or “courts” can rule it admissible.
Seems like liberty and justice is not always for all. At least when we are operating from the kingdom of man, rather than the Kingdom of God.
