“Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.”
Proverbs 11:22 NIV

discretion: the quality of having or showing discernment or good judgment : the quality of being discreet
It’s amazing what you can learn from experts if you do a web search. It turns out that rings in a hog or pig’s snout is used to control them. It’s not the most humane practice in the world (in fact the source of this info about pig rings suggests building better fences.) But the ring in the snout stops the pig or hog from rooting, digging up its enclosure, digging under the fence and escaping. I find it interesting that a ring could be used in this way. The rings cause pain when the pig tries to root.
In relation to the scripture, the ring is beautiful and pricy, but also restrictive and controlling.
The scripture doesn’t say “a woman with a nose ring doesn’t have discretion” but her beauty without wisdom and self control can lead to external controls.
